By TAYLOR BERRYMAN, Associated PressFormer Eagles coachDave Gettlemeno says he is frustrated that his players are unable to participate in practices and games.
Gettleman says he and his staff are doing everything they can to help the team improve.
But he said he is concerned about the players’ ability to participate during team activities and in team games.
The Eagles have a chance to make the playoffs this season if they can improve their record and hold onto their first playoff berth in four seasons.
The last time they won a playoff game in their first season under new coach Chip Kelly was in 2008, a 12-10 loss to the New York Giants.
Gettman was hired by Kelly in December.
He said last month that he has been working closely with Kelly, who also coached the New England Patriots from 2008 to 2010.
He added that Kelly was willing to spend time with Gettlemann and that they were working out some of the Eagles’ young players.
Kelly said during a media availability on Monday that he’s proud of the way the Eagles played during the offseason and the way Gettlemans team has played.
Kelly said he’s confident that his team will play better next season and is confident the team can get back to the playoffs.
“I’m happy to have him with us, and I know he’ll help us be better next year,” Kelly said.
