A band from a Disney movie has been performing on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, but the performance wasn’t quite what you’d expect.
The band was called The Ghost Band and it was playing a song from the animated Disney film “Ghostbusters.”
The band members were dressed in black, blackface, and makeup.
One of the band members, Charles King, told ABC News that the performance was meant to show people how much they love the Disney film.
“It was just a show for the public, and people were allowed to join the performance,” King said.
The Ghost Band was the only member of the Ghost Band who wasn’t dressed in the movie’s blackface costume.
They wore blackface masks, and some wore whiteface masks as well.
The performance was also a way to highlight the importance of diversity in Hollywood, according to King.
“There are so many stories that don’t get told that show how diverse this community is,” King added.
The group of people who showed up at the Hollywood location to join King and the Ghost band was not a group that would be expected to go on to become a staple of the entertainment industry.ABC News reached out to the Hollywood Ghost Band for comment, but received no response by the time of publication.
