KITTIE BAND, the band formed in 1984, has a few surprises for the crowd at this year’s Grammy Awards.
The band is wearing an oversized tank top and long shorts in honor of its latest album, “Warped,” a collaboration with Justin Bieber.
The band is also rocking an elaborate headband and a pair of pants.
“I got the tank top because I love the 80s,” frontman Billy Corgan told reporters in Los Angeles.
“The 90s was all about sex and drugs and the 80 was all punk and all of that stuff.”
Corgan also had a question for the audience: “Are you a punk rocker?”
The band’s new album, titled “Warmth,” is available on the band’s website.
The album includes a song called “Bad,” which features the line, “My wife said I looked a lot like a punk.”
Corporations are starting to pay attention to hip hop, too.
Earlier this year, the company Sony announced plans to buy a stake in RIAA Records, the music streaming service that’s also home to hip-hop artists like Nas and the Beastie Boys.
In 2016, the pop-rock act Arcade Fire announced plans for a new record, “All My Friends.”
They also revealed a tour, but no release date.
“They’ve got this thing that’s just about having fun, having some fun,” said Billy Corrigan, a member of the band who played guitar and sang.
“It’s all about getting into your head and just having fun.”
