Canadian bands Ride the Wild and The Avalanches have released a new song titled “Loyalty” and will be heading back to the U.S. to play in what they describe as a “homecoming” tour in the lead up to the band’s upcoming North American tour.
The Canadian duo have been touring the U, Canada for two years, since 2011 and are currently scheduled to perform in Edmonton, Alberta on Feb. 10.
The new song, which is the latest in the bands latest effort, is a tribute to the late singer, songwriter and musician Dave Matthews, who died in June at the age of 88.
The Avalanches are planning to perform the song in the U., Canada in front of the U and B-side, “I’m Yours,” as well as on the North American side.
It was produced by Canadian-American songwriter/songwriter/producer David Lang and was released by the band on their official website.
“It’s the only way we’re going to be able to bring him back,” Lang told CBC News.
“We’re going back, to be honest, to take a little bit of that country and show it to you in a different way, but still bring him into the present, with a new generation of listeners.”
That’s the whole reason we’re coming back to America,” he said.”
Loyality” is also slated to play at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival, which opens Feb. 11.”
I’m Not Yours” is the band s second song to be released in a couple of months.
The first, “Lonesome Town,” was released in April.
